The London Knights and Sarnia Sting engaged in what I would call “Old Time Hockey” at the end of thier game on Sunday at the Budweiser Gardens in London. The fans could sense that things were going to spill over early into the contest and at the 18:39 mark  of the third period everything hit the fan as Sarnia defenceman Kevin Spinozzi jumped London forward Max Jones and it was on. The Sarnia Sting and coach Darian Hatcher has confirmed the re addition of Davis Brown. While it is still unknown as to why Brown has made such an abrupt return to the OHL after playing two games in a Swedish professional league, speculation is that his team, Sollentuna HC, went bankrupt. (more…)

The Mississauga Steelheads and Sarnia Sting came together on a trade that sees 1998 born defender Jake O’Donnell on his way from Sarnia to Mississauga.

Back in July, Davis Brown told me he was planning on returning to the Sarnia Sting this season as one of their three allowed overage players. Turned out that was not the case when shortly there after, he signed in the pro ranks overseas in Sweden with Sollentuna HC.


The Sarnia Sting are expected to announce the signing of right handed centreman, Luke Kunin from the NCAA’s University of Wisconsin Badgers, multiple sources have confirmed. When it’s all said and done, Kunin will become the third player to jump ship to the Ontario Hockey League from NCAA colleges following the likes of Hurricanes prospect Warren Foegele who left the University of New Hampshire to join the Kingston Frontenacs as well as Jeremy Bracco who left Boston University for the Kitchener Rangers.  (more…)
