Kitchener-RangersThe Kitchener Rangers have announced the signing of Toronto Maple Leafs prospect, Jeremy Bracco.

Bracco, 18, joins the Rangers after de-committing from Boston College following playing 5 games where he registered 3 assists. Boston College is the same school where NHL players such as Matt Lombardi, Brian Boyle, Cam Atkinson and more recently, Johnny Gaudreau, Noah Hanifin and Jack Eichel, showcased their skills before landing in the NHL. Bracco is a prospect of the Toronto Maple Leafs after being selected in the 2nd round, 61st overall by the Leafs in 2015. (more…)

The Kitchener Rangers confused many, not so much by Kitchener-Rangerstrading away Curtis Meighan to the Ottawa 67’s but the acquisition of OA netminder and highly touted Detroit Red Wings prospect Jake Paterson, that soon followed. This comes just day(s) after trading away key guys in Justin Bailey and Brent Pedersen. Jake Paterson should be able to take the Kitchener Rangers into the playoffs but many don’t see them going much further than the first round.

The Saginaw Spirit had, and still do have just one player card remaining, meaning the Spirit were unlikely to bring in any more bodies in exchange for Paterson.

Not to go unmentioned, the Rangers also sent overage centre Curtis Meighan to the Ottawa 67’s. Meighan is a native of Ottawa, ON which means Meighan will have the chance to finish out his OHL career playing in front of his home crowd.

SaultSteMarieKitchener Rangers RW Justin Bailey was given until the end of Tuesday to make his decision on whether or not he wanted to ride it out in Kitchener or go to Sault Ste. Marie. At around 2:30 in the afternoon he made his decision and informed Rangers GM Murray Hiebert that he’d wish to finish up his OHL career somewhere else.  (more…)

Brandon Robinson’s time with the Kitchener Rangers may prove to be shorter than some may have predicted. Having spent just over a year with the Kitchener Rangers following being acquired from the North Bay Battalion in exchange for Ben Thomson and a draft pick, it seems as though the Kitchener Rangers are now trying to move the 6’3 winger elsewhere.
