Take this as you will, but an email sent to me early Thursday morning mentions that the Niagara IceDogs could be looking to change the structure of the team’s ownership.

Owner Bill Burke met with Remedy Holdings CEO Bruce Moody recently to discuss a scenario which would see Burke sell some amount of his stake in the Niagara IceDogs. Also discussed, apart from numbers was Burke’s wish to keep his two sons (Billy & Joey) employed by the team for at least one year under a new ownership group.

Bruce Moody, CEO of Remedy Holdings is from Markham, Ontario and is a former owner of the Aurora Tigers of the OJHL.

When asked if there was any truth to the rumour, IceDogs GM/Head Coach Marty Williamson responded saying, “no, none at all.”

So, proceed with caution with this one but you never know, there could be something going on!
