The Hamilton Bulldogs announced recently that the team has parted ways with longtime franchise GM/Head Coach George Burnett. George had been with the Bulldogs franchise since 2004-2005 back (not that long ago) when the team was known as the Belleville Bulls.

In Burnett’s twelve season run with the Bulldogs franchise, Burnett coached his team past the 2nd round of the OHL Playoffs three times.

“I want to thank George for his contribution to the Bulldogs in our inaugural season in Hamilton,” Staios said in a news release. “George is a man of integrity and class, and we wish him well in his future.”

What does the future mean for the Hamilton Bulldogs? Well team president Steve Staios will be taking over in Burnett’s vacant GM position for the time being. As for the vacant Head Coaching post, I believe we’ll see Troy Smith eventually named to that role.
