Following yesterday’s acquisition of Travis Konecny and Sam Studnicka, there were two questions remaining as to whether or not Sarnia is a championship calibre team. One of those being defense, and the other being goaltending. The Sting went out and improved in one of those areas today.

To Sarnia:
– Charlie Graham

To Hamilton:
– Kaden Fulcher

Charlie Graham’s name has been attached to the Sarnia Sting in rumours dating back to December when it was said that he and Stephen Harper would be heading to Sarnia. Well, Niagara yesterday grabbed Harper and today the Sting ended up grabbing 1/2 of that rumour.

Graham is currently riding out his final year of OHL eligibility. He was a 7th round slection of the Hamilton Bulldogs back when the franchise was in Belleville and known as the Bulls. In parts of 5 seasons spent with the same franchise, Charlie Graham has posted a goals against average of 3.32 with a save percentage of .906. Graham joins the Sting with just 5 games of playoff experience, as he has never really received a shot at playing for a contending team.

He will without a doubt get that shot he’s been looking for when he joins the Sting. The tandem of Charlie Graham and Justin Fazio should be one of the better ones in the league, but will probably fly under the radar as both Fazio and Graham have flown under the radar their whole junior careers to date.

Charlie Graham is an unsigned free agent at the NHL level.

Going to Hamilton in the trade is Kaden Fulcher. At 17 years of age, Fulcher has appeared in 3 games for the Sting this season with a goals against average of 3.30 and a save percentage of .890. Fulcher has 3 years of OHL eligibility remaining following this season.

Fulcher is a prospect not eligible for the NHL Entry Draft until 2017 due to a late birthday. Fulcher is a native of Brigden, Ontario.
