The Kitchener Rangers have acquired goaltender Liam Devine from the Oshawa Generals in exchange for a mid round draft pick in 2018.

To Kitchener:
– Liam Devine

To Oshawa:
– 6th Round Pick (2018)

Devine, a 17 year old native of Guelph, ON was selected in the 9th round of the 2014 OHL Priority Selection, 166th overall. Devine had recently lost his position as a backup goaltender to Jeremy Brodeur to Logan Gauthier.

The Kitchener Rangers who will be without goalie Dawson Carty (injury) & Luke Opilka (WJC) for the foreseeable future needed to acquire somebody to come in and provide the Rangers squad with some depth in the crease for the next little while.

Devine, in 3 games played this season for the Generals carries with him a goals against average of 5.32 and a save percentage of .837.

Devine will be looking to prove himself for next season.
